28 December 1895 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 28th December [1895]. Dark damp weather. Type as usual. Went out for hour in morng to the dentist. Sir Henry Thompson came to tea at 5 & spent sometime chatting. He was eager to tell me Sir J. Paxton’s granddaughter had sent him as a Christmas present a copy of Reynold’s print of Philips picture of Henry—inscribed from Philips to Sir J. Paxton. Evening type wrote.
