20 February 1896 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 20th [February 1896]. Mr Vigor came & gave us a lesson—Nelly, Nela, Elaine Guest & I & we worked hard– I went back to lunch with Elaine at Wimborne House—& found a large party there Lady Tweedmouth, Lady de Ramsey, Mr & Lady Moira Cavendish & the family. Cornelia came in very late for luncheon—afterwards I had a little talk with her then with Elaine & then went home. Ruth lunched at Savile Row with Nela & Nellie. Sir Arthur Otway came to tea with me & sat a long time talking. Mr John Fraser came to tea also to see Nellie. My brother Arthur came & stayed some time. Edward Duncannon, Dacre & Nela Du Cane & Mr Herbert Thompson dined with me. Great talk of the new discovery of photography thro’ metal wood &c. Mr Thompson explained it to us.
