8 April 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 8th April [1896]. Did nothing much in the morng. After lunch had a visit from Mrs Eden– No gondoliers again this morning so I got Carry Eden to take me out in her gondola when she left & she dropped me at Css Pisani’s as she arrived today from Vescovana. After sitting with her some time I walked on to Danielli’s & left cards there for Mrs Arbuthnot & then walked to the S. Benedetto Traghetto & was ferried home. Aline Lambton & Eda Alderson did not go out. I found them at tea on my return. Later had a visit from Ersilia Canevaro & her sister Maria—& then from Iduna Bel. After dinner played patience with Eda– | |
