9 April 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 9th [April 1896]. Went out in gondola with Eda & Aline after lunch– We went to the Piazza & helped Aline to shop. Then paid a visit to Css Pisani– Left Eda there & came home with Aline who was so unwell that I put her to bed & remained with her till she was quiet—then I remembered I had engaged to go to tea with the Montalba so I rushed off on foot as I had no gondoliers & they were at home & were very kind & showed me all their pictures & drawings. I walked home at 6– I had just time to dress & go off to dine with Css Pisani to meet Prince Auguste d’Ehrenberg & his daughter & son in law Ct & Css Laguiche. The Prince was charming—knew every body in every country & the Css Pisani was in very good spirits & the evening was very pleasant. | |
