24 June 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 24th [June 1896]. Up as usual today. Finished painting 2nd fan for Blanche– Arranged my painting materials to be packed for our departure next week as I have hired the Villa Mier near Belluno for July & August for 600 fcs. Afternoon worked & talked with Augusta in the green boudoir. A visit from old Marchese Bentivoglio one of the old type of Venetians—a queer old gentleman. After tea Augusta & I went to the Eden’s garden—but did not stay long as a storm threatened all round, but there were only a few drops of rain. We went home early & we were just going out for a walk when Iduna Bel came so Augusta went alone & I remained with Iduna. After dinner Olga Mocenigo (Windischgrätz) came for an hour & we worked & chatted. This morning I arranged some of Henry’s papers & amongst them found all his letters of congratulation on our marriage!
