8 September 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 8th [September 1896]. Typed. Sophy & I went to tea at 4 with Genl de Horsey at Ca’ Semitecolo—met there the Curtis & Sir John Conroy. Afterwards we went to the Eden’s garden & found a goodly company of Grand Dukes & Dss of Darmstadt & Russia. We of course avoided them & after picking some roses went off to the Riva Schiavoni & took a walk there—only coming in for dinner. Sophy went to see the Curtis in the evening. | |
