19 September 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 19th [September 1896]. Nevil came & sat in the library in the morning while I typed. At 4.30 the Prince & Pss of Saxe Meiningen came to tea with their daughter Pss Frodora, a lady in waiting & a gentleman Herr von Roederer. Css Olga Mocenigo came & also Count Belmondo. They stayed a long time chatting. Pss Charlotte very kind & sympathetic. Her daughter is rather pretty & one would think they were sisters—the mother looks so young. When they were gone Jack, Nevil & I went for a row—& I then went to see Aspasie. Nevil was tired & did not come to dinner. Olga Mocenigo dined with us. Lovely day & very hot.
