19 October 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 19th [October 1896]. I went out directly after 9 o’cl breakfast with George to the Palazzo Mocenigo to see Olga’s proposed new apartment in what is called the Palazzo Nero– It is a mezzanine. A few good rooms on the Grand Canal but at the back & long passage & rooms lighted into it. The sanitary arrangements are practically nil– However we discussed it with Olga, Adine & Mrs Eden & concluded she could make it comfortable for one person to live in. Olga & Adine dined with me in the evening–
