7 December 1896 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 7th [December 1896]. Kate left me & went to Inwood to stay with Merthyr two days. After lunch Mr Regd Faber called on me to talk abt the Huguenot society. At 2.45 I drove off to Southwark Westcott St Board School & paid the head school mistress Mrs Hills a visit found her rather despondent– Her husband is ill having fallen when tipsey. Poor woman she has trials which makes me ashamed of one’s own ingratitude. Nela DC. came to tea & stayed to dinner & we worked together at making a design for work for Garry Hill Industry.
