19 December 1896 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 19th [December 1896]. Dr Edgelow came to see me– Worked in studio. Went out for ½ hour in search of a Christmas present for my brother Monty. Nela & I lunched at 1.30. At 3 she went out in my carriage to take Maria out as I expected Mrs Hills the schoolmistress– She telegraphed she was ill & cd not come. At 4 Maria & Nela called for me. I went out with them for an hour—& left them at their home. Mrs Willy Hanson came to tea & also Connie & her girl Bee. Addie Bedford came to see me later. I called today on Mrs Rate but she was too ill to see me.
