27 February 1897 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 27th [February 1897]. Nela came to the studio but Nellie did not come & so we did not have the model & did not paint. At 12 I walked to Half Moon St to see Nellie & found her in bed with a bad headache. I stayed with her till 1 & then returned home to lunch. Constance came to lunch with me but left directly after. I drove to ½ Moon St to see Nellie & found her a little better—then I went to see Alice Murray & to see her new baby girl. She asked me to be godmother & think of calling her Barbara. I returned home at 5. Dacre Du Cane came to tea. Miss Oswell came to dinner & worked alone at correcting the MS. I worked spangled pattern ribbons for Blanche’s Irish workers.
