15 April 1897 — Bessborough, Fiddown, County Kilkenny
Thursday. 15th [April 1897]. Onie read to me as usual before breakfast. I had a disturbing letter from my brother Monty saying he does not think the house at Savile Row is kept clean. I had to write various letters on the subject of a spring cleaning. Also a letter from Merthyr to say he cannot take me to Norway as he before proposed. I took Miles for a practice on his violincello & played his accompaniment—then played for Onie to sing.
