9 June 1897 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset
Wednesday. 9th [June 1897]. I worked in studio. Arthur left for town. Arthur DC. fished all day & came home in the evening very wet as it came on to rain hard in the evening. We went to join him at Chamberlain’s bridge & I fished but got nothing. We had tea all of us in the dairy woman’s cottage having gone up in the pony carriage which we have hired from Dorchester– It poured all night.
