10 June 1897 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset | |
Thursday. 10th [June 1897]. Nelly left for Hatfield. Arthur DC., Onie & I went in Mr Hibbs trap to the Warren at 10.30. Onie left us there to fish & returned for us for luncheon. Arthur got 2 trout—I as usual nothing. After lunch Mr Mansel Pleydell rode over to see us & stayed to tea. Onie & Arthur went for a bycicle ride & at 6.30 I went to fish in the Doctor’s Hatch—but with no result. I was joined by Arthur & we remained out till 8.30. Lovely day. | |
