24 October 1897 — Villa Pisani, Vescovana | |
Sunday. 24th [October 1897]. The sun shone again at last & the wind much abated. It is colder. Nela & I accompanied the Countess to church at 11. After lunch Nela & I took a drive in the open carriage as far as the Ponte Boara over the Adige. Lovely weather. Read aloud the Georgias in the evening. Reading it with the Countess who can explain all the country life & management of the farms makes it very interesting. | |
