14 December 1897 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 14th [December 1897]. I had a headache & was not able to do anything all day. Nela went out with my maid. I lay on the sofa all the afternoon will tea time. Olga Mocenigo & Marquesa Bentivoglio came to tea. Olga had just been to see her daughter & grandson off at the station for Verona & seemed so lonely that I begged her to return & dine with us which she did & she remained till past 11– | |
