19 February 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 19th [February 1898]. Arthur Du Cane called in the morning to arrange with me about our going down to Bere together on Monday. He has things to do for Arthur & I am to look after the garden for him. We walked together to Half Moon Street & I went in & saw Arthur & got instructions from him as to what I was to say to the gardener & then returned home to lunch to which Nela came. I did not go out again. I was very cold. Connie came & sat a long time with me warming herself & chatting. Louis Du Cane also called. I dined with Adeline Dss of Bedford. We two alone—& worked & chatted till 10.30 when I came home to bed.
