30 May 1898 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 30th May [1898]. Whit. Monday Bank Holiday. Sat with Arthur while he had his breakfast & sat chatting with him afterwards while Nurse Papworth masséd his legs. Then left him & wrote letters. Arthur lunched with us in the lobby & eat a large slice of pine apple. Mr C. Wyld called to take Nelly out. I got ready at 2 for Connie, to walk with her but she did not come till tea time. Lord & Lady Bessboro came to tea. Mr Arthur Glyn called. I left him talking to Nelly & went & sat with Connie on the patio. Abt 6 I set off to walk to Park Crescent to see Maria. It came on to rain—but stopped raining soon after I got to Marias so I took a turn in Regent’s Park with Ruth & returned & dined with her & Julia & their mother. Came home early & went to bed.
