10 December 1898 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 10th December [1898]. I copied pictures all morning. Mrs Eden came to see us after lunch. Went out with Augusta. Walked from the English church to the Piazza– Saw the lottery being drawn in the Loggia of Sansovino. There were a lot of people looking on & little boys taking the numbers who flew off as soon as it was over to carry the numbers to different parts of the room. Augusta walked home. I met Herr Passini on the Piazzetta—took a few turns with him & returned home to tea. | |
