23 January 1899 — Rome | |
Monday. 23rd [January 1899]. Wrote letters in the morning. Went out driving at 2 with Lady Somers who leaves Rome tomorrow & Adeline also. I came back to this hotel at 4 to meet Doris Vivian & we walked together in the Corso & I took her to Miss Wilson’s tea room & gave her tea there which was an amusement to her & then walked back to Pal. Borghese to pay her mother a visit. She persuaded me to remain to dinner & I walked back to the hotel at 10. | |
