14 March 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 14th [March 1899]. This morning I received Fanny Browning’s letter from Athens confirming her telegram. I wrote long letters to her to Naples & Genoa & also to Pen at Antibes. Then typed till lunch. Lovely spring day. Went out in gondola after lunch to Eden’s garden– Mr Eden came there & bade me take flowers—so I brought a handfull of daffodils & violets. Iduna came late to see me & sat with me while I dressed & then I went to dine with the D. & Dss della Grazia. Met M. & Mme Wiel, Ricardo Cozzi & Pss Carola Hohenlohe.
