30 March 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 30th [March 1899]. Went to morning service at 10.30. Worked hard at typing. Mr Curtis came to tea with me & took me out in his gondola to S. Marks & we enquired abt the musical services there & find they take place all this week abt 6 & Perosi’s music is sung. At 6 o’cl the Vivian family arrived to stay with me—viz. Lady Vivian, the twin girls, Violet & Dorise, & the little girl Alexandra, 2 maids, a footman, & 2 puppy dogs! They came from Florence where they have been for the last fortnight & some of them have been laid up with influenza. Miss Copeland the governess has gone to an hotel. I went in the evening with Belmondo to Ct Morosini.
