13 April 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 13th [April 1899]. Arranged drawing room furniture & put the new book stand in the middle drawing room where it looks lovely. Went out with all the Vivians in gondola in afternoon & bought more flowers to make the rooms look nice—& came home early as the Empress said she was coming to tea which she did about 6 with her 2 ladies, Fraulein von Bunsen & Baronne Fabre du Laure– Mme Wiel came to meet her—no one else. She stayed about an hour. We had the tea in the green boudoir– The Vivian girls made the tea & “Baby” waited upon her.
