Saturday. 27th [May 1899]. ].I accompanied Ivor & Cornelia into Bournemouth by 11.20 train. We went to the Bath Hotel where they had business & I got Princess Cariati’s address 6 Richmond Hill. I walked there found her at home & paid her a long visit & then took a cab back to the station. Met Ivor & Cornelia there & we returned to Wimborne by 1 o’cl train. The carriage met us but we got out of it & walked half the way. Had luncheon at 2. Ivor Junior, Rosie & her husband Mat Ridley arrived while we were at lunch. After lunch I sat in the long gallery helping Elaine to nurse her baby as its nurse was ill & the Dr arrived from Wimborne to see her. He said there was a probability that the woman is going to have typhoid & must go to a hospital all of wh Cornelia proceeded to arrange & the baby is given pro tem to the Rodney nurse. After tea we all walked out to see the cricket match which was going on & then Cornelia & I went on to the kitchen garden with 3 Rodney boys & home by the “Queen’s walk”– | |
