2 August 1899 — Plombières
Wednesday. 2nd [August 1899]. The usual routine of bathing & drinking. After 5 when the heat of the day was over I went with Lionel for a walk in the woods along the valley. Nela went for a walk with Vere. I had a long talk with Lionel & told him all I knew about his sister Corise Rodney’s troubles & how she is going to try & divorce her husband. Having been abroad some months Lionel had heard nothing about it. Neither has he heard of the Rhuvon Merthyr action which I explained to him.
