29 September 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 29th [September 1899]. Wrote letters &c all the morning. Visit from Mr Brown after lunch. I went to fetch Iduna Belmondo & we went together to look for lamps to adapt to the electric light & I found 2 & bought them. Ersilia Canevaro & Maria Cozzi came to tea & also Bentivoglio– Quite late Donna Laura & Mme de Bülow her daughter, Prof: Blaserna & Ingeniere Faccioli came to pay me a visit, & I was able to show them the pictures by electric light which is at last nearly arranged everywhere. They left me late—just before my 8 o’cl dinner. Faccioli was very impressed with the pictures. He is director of the Museum at Bologna & intelligent.
