3 November 1899 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 3rd [November 1899]. I was tired & did not rise till lunch time. Then after lunch I went in gondola to see the Curtis & to ask them if they had news of Mme Wiel who is ill at Socchieva. Then to the English Church to meet Mr Woods & Ho Brown to have a further consultation on the new organ gallery. When we got there we waited for some time without being able to get in as no one had the key—so we gave it up & I walked home– Very anxious abt the news from the Transvaal War.
