5 February 1900 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 5th [February 1900]. Nellie returned home not having been able to hunt on account of the snow which lies thick in Northamptonshire. Mr Phipps dined here & has declined being secy to the Madeira homes as he is too busy a man to undertake so arduous a task. This is disconcerting. He advises a paid secy. In the morning I went in a cab to see Dr Hyslop of Bethlem to consult him on various matters connected with the scheme. Thence I went to try & find a Mrs Wethered to try & learn about Tenerife but she was not at home so I came on here to my lunch.
