10 March 1900 — Lutterworth
Saturday. 10th March [1900]. Breakfasted at 9 with the family. Sat & worked & talked with Kate. After lunch she & I took a walk together. She took me to see the new cottage hospital wh is not yet opened. The nurse not being at home we cd not get inside. As we returned we met a cart taking a man to his home after an accident he had had by a fall from a scaffolding– We went to the Golf links further on to tell Cecil of it & then we went to visit the workhouse. We saw the tramps’ ward which was empty, then round by the town to enquire after the injured man who was unconscious but attended by the district nurse & a Dr & then home to 5 oclock tea–
