28 June 1900 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 28th [June 1900]. This afternoon we had a Layard Home Committee meeting Duncannon in the chair. There was a great discussion as to money to carry on the concern—& it was decided to make an appeal to the public– One was draughted & Sir France de Winton was deputed to show it to the Red Cross Society before it was published. I dined with Mr & Mrs Henry 36 Grosvenor Road Westr. Sir Wm Richmond took me to dinner. Pleasant evening. The Henrys are nice people & she is simple & unaffected notwithstanding all her learning.
