2 July 1900 — Swinford Old Manor, Ashford, Kent
Monday. 2nd [July 1900]. Returned to London by a morning train & was at home by 11 o’cl. After tea I walked to Cav. Square to see Duncannon & to show him a letter from Sir F. de Winton saying he has seen the head of the Red Cross Society & he begs us not to issue an appeal but to hand over our hospital to them. This I am loathe to do. He is rather in favour of it. “I ha’ ona douts”– Dined at home with Nellie quietly.
