Saturday. 29th [December 1900]. A lovely day today. Modelled; wrote letters. Went to see Fanny Browning. Had a visit from Countess Canevaro who brought the wife of the Prefect to introduce to me Marchesa Cassio. He has just come here. They have only been married two months. A pretty little woman half English & a Protestant & says she came to our church on Christmas Day. She comes from Messina. Mr & Mrs Christie called. | |
