30 January 1901 — Rome | |
Wednesday. 30th [January 1901]. Arrived at Venice at 1.50. Pasquale met me at the station. Just as I got home it began to snow but about 4 it cleared & there was brilliant sunshine again. I dined in the studio early & Mr Montalba came while I was dining to tell me all the arrangements he had made for the funeral service in our church on Saturday. I sat in my bedroom & went early to bed– The servants arrived from Rome at midnight. | |
