8 February 1901 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 8th [February 1901]. The sun came out in the early morning but soon gave way to huge rolling clouds & down came a shower of hail & snow. Then came rain & wind & in the evening there was a violent thunderstorm which grumbled on for several hours. I modelled—& practised guitar to be ready to play with Mme Noce who was to have come at 2 but sent to excuse herself on the score of the bad weather. Carry Eden came instead & sat & had a chat—after which I went out to see the Montalbas & had tea with them. Played patience & wrote letters in evening.
