Monday. 27th [May 1901]. Nellie & I started by 11 o’cl train from Charing Cross & went to Paris. Had a calm passage & got to Paris at 7—were met by Mr Belard & went to the dear old Hotel St Romain 7 Rue St Roch where Henry & I always stayed whenever we went to Paris since the year we were married in 1869. Dined in our rooms au second. Afterwards had a visit from Mr Ambrose Poynter who with his mother is staying at Hotel de Londres Rue Castiglione. | |
