9 June 1901 — 3 Savile Row
Sunday. 9th [June 1901]. I went to the 10 o’cl service at the German Chapel Royal & there for the first time saw the King since he came to the throne. He seemed to me to have grown stouter & his back broader & head more bald than before—perhaps because one had more opportunity of observing it. The Queen & Pss Victoria were also there the former as lovely as even. The Oranmores lunched with me. Nellie was out. I dined at Wimborne House, met Dss of Roxburgh & 2 daughters—she very handsome.
