8 June 1901 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 8th [June 1901]. Modelled in early morning. Worked sewing machine. Went to lunch with Mr & Mrs Arkwright in a house they have hired for the season in Wilton Crescent. Met Hon: Ethel Cadogan, Miss Olive Maxey, Mr Clifford & 2 American artists. At 3 went to Cork St & fetched Nellie to drive. We went to call on Mrs Luke Fildes but did not find her at home– Gertie Seymer came to see me at 5 & brought her daughter Violet to make my acquaintance. She seems a bright amusing girl—rather nice looking. Nellie & I dined alone—& I worked sewing machine in the evening–
