17 June 1901 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 17th [June 1901]. My sister Kate came up from Peterboro to stay with me. She is rather low owing to the fact that she had hoped that her husband Cecil might be made Dean of Peterboro but Lord Salisbury has not appointed him—altho all his friends had interested themselves in recommending him & the King had signified his approval should Lord S. think fit to make him Dean.
