22 September 1901 — Dolobran, Haverford, Pennsylvania
Sunday. 22nd [September 1901]. I went to morning service with Mrs Rodman Griscom & Miss Zook. There was a sermon in memory of the late President. The clergyman said that the sin of the late crime is partly at our door on account of the endless & senseless fault finding of people placed in high places & here in America those placed by the deliberate will of those who blame them. In the afternoon Mr Griscom took me, Nellie, Mrs Griscom & Juan Riaño for a drive in his phaeton– Emilia is getting better & the nurse is a success.
