9 April 1902 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 9th April [1902]. The gondola being at the squero to be cleaned I had to walk this afternoon. I went to see Bss Reinelt for a very few minutes as I had it on my mind she was hurt because I had written to her to Trieste begging her not to address me as “Comtesse.” I found her in good humour– Thence by the Piazza I went over the Iron bridge to Stab. V. Murano to see if I could find Mr Hamilton & left word asking him to come & see me. Then to the Harstons to ask after the child—then to Mme Giacomelli where Mlle Giacomelli told me to my great satisfaction that her Unione per il bene is come to an end. On to Guggenheim’s & found him at home & told him about the proposed meeting at this house on Saty next for the regeneration of the V. Murano Co & so home to tea– Iduna came & brought with her Baron Magneri to call.
