27 June 1902 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 27th [June 1902]. Very hot day & I felt so unwell that I spent the day on the sofa & slept a great deal. Kate sat with me & did ditto. After 5 o’cl tea to which no visitor came I walked to 5a New Burlington Street to see Louis Du Cane who was entertaining a few of the family to tea. He had a very nice apartment there with his brother Arthur. I walked to 17 Cav. Sqr & back. Blanche & Edward looked in to see me before dinner. Louis DC. dined with us. Nellie & I took a drive in a hansom round St James’ Park after dinner for an airing. There were crowds standing round Buckm Palace waiting for news of the King which on the whole are satisfactory & give over a glimmer of hope for the future. I went to bed very early having a nervous cholic.
