28 October 1903 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 28th [October 1903]. I sent to ask Dr van Someren to come to see me in order to talk over hospital affairs such as taking in Italian women as probationers. Found him, as usual, very vague & impractical. At 12 I walked to the Frari to see the girls Nela & Verona at their book binding & on to Mr Wood’s studio to see a picture he has just finished of a Venetian girl looking over a wall into a canal. Went out in gondola to the Piazza & over to the hospital & met the Engineer about the repairs of the new house.
