28 March 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 28th March [1904]. Directly we were up we took over the new matron “Sister Katherine” to the hospital to install her & found Sister Clare ready to receive her. Mr Harston also was there & later in the day several friends came to see me. The brilliant sunshine of this climate was a great joy to me after the cold & darkness of the past three months in London—this house looks so pretty and bright and homelike that it is a pleasure to be home again & to unpack & settle down.
