22 April 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 22nd [April 1904]. Today there was a meeting at Css Brandolin’s house of the Committee for the “Lavore Feminiti” at wh all the smart ladies were present. An unfortunate professore had been named President by Css Cora Brazzà who knew nothing of the subject & whom we none of us knew. Mme Malagola was the secretary & after explaining all that had hitherto taken place there was a general protest against the whole affair & it was unanimously decided to break up the whole thing. I was sorry but I could not deny that the whole affair was put on a false basis & that a committee composed of fine lades could not carry it on—so I am sorry that it is at an end– At 4 oclock, the D., Dss & Capt. Beaumont, Eda & I went off to the Della Grazia’s to tea. The Css Morosini was also there.
