21 April 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 21st [April 1904]. As Mrs Burdon Muller is leaving I gave up this morning to take her out shopping & then directly after luncheon I accompanied her & her boy to the station and saw her off. She was very sorry to leave & I am glad she had enjoyed herself so much– She made great friends with the Princess—& she was very affectionate to me– I am sorry not to feel more drawn to her myself—but then one cannot like everybody alike– After she was gone Eda & I went to the Bss Reinelts. She was very full of a correspondence between Css Aninina Morosini & the Kaiser. It appears she is doing all she can to persuade him to come to Venice before he leaves Italy. He is a gt admirer of the Css—& she hopes to get him here. We went on to see the Curtis– After dinner the D. & Dss, Eda & I went to take tea with Css Morosini. She was very pleasant & received us kindly so that I was quite astonished at her pleasant manners.
