Monday. 16th [May 1904]. A whole host of people came in & out in the morning to see the pictures—viz Miss Sharpe, Mr Forbes, Miss Monahan who is a niece of Mrs Julia Ball & brought me an introduction from her. In the evening at 9.40 Mrs Silver came to stay with me. She acts with Sir C. Wyndham under the name of Miss Gertrude Kingston & has come from Florence. She is a R.C. and stopped at Padua on her way here so as to make a pilgrimage to the shrine of St Anthony. She is refined lookg & handsome—spritely & amusing.
