24 July 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 24th [July 1904]. Mr Kennedy & I went to morning service. There were a good many people there—mostly Americans. Sat talking with Mr Kennedy the rest of the morning. The telegrams say that the “Malacca” question is settled—Russia having promised to give her back. After 5 o’cl tea we went out in gondola to the Piazza that Mr Kennedy might see where the Campanile once was. Took a row 2 hours– After dinner went a “float” by moonlight.
