12 September 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 12th [September 1904]. Mr & Miss Stopford Brooke came to tea also the Curtis. Just before dinner I got a telegram from the Aldersons to say they were arriving tonight instead of tomorrow. Mr Musgrave & I went to the Piazza to hear the band play & have ices, returned home at 11 & sent the gondola to meet the Aldersons & they arrived by 11.28 train from Belluno. Kate & Cecil & their 2 girls Eda & Mary & their son Monty & his friend Mr Hailstone a clergyman from Liverpool who had been travelling with them in Cadore. Gave them tea & all retired to bed. | |
