7 January 1905 — Castle MacGarrett, Ballindine, County Mayo
Saturday. 7th [January 1905]. It had been very wet yesterday but today we had long gleams of sunshine. We all walked in the grounds looking at the trees &c. Miss Knox left at 10. Lord Westmeath & I left directly after lunch & drove to Claremorris station & I took the train to London at 3.8. Changed carriages at Athlone—& there being a restaurant car had tea. Changed again at Broadstone– At 8 embarked at Kingstown on the Holyhead steamer. Had a perfect crossing till 11.30—& had a sleeping berth on the train w got to Easton at 7 A.M. on
