14 January 1905 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 14th [January 1905]. Had to go to the dentist at 10 to have a tooth stopped & got off without much agony. Monty Guest looked in to see me & to say that he was going down to Brighton for the Sunday & that he had referred the question of his debt to Theodora to Sir G. Lewis to settle with Louis Du Cane motives of discussing it with him himself & hoped that Louis wd not think that he thereby meant to be unfriendly to Theo. At tea time Louis called on me & I had a long talk with him. I found him very angry, sore against Monty & seeing only the worst side of things. I soothed him all I could & finally hope he was mollified. Luckily I was able to tell him what Monty had said to me this morning.
